How do you run 12s 1/4 mile on street tires?
Yesterday night, I was at sacramento raceway trying to get 12s. My car is stock but for the exhaust pipes. My best time i could do was 13.2 @ 108 mph with a 2.1 60 ft. I ran 3 times and all times was pretty consistent. For all those who do drag race, how did you manage 12s on street tires or with the stock 19s? I just could not get my PSS to bite off the line. I may need to brake torque but at what RPM? I tried feathering off the line, holding 1000 rpm and feather that off the line and it did not bite. For the last run, I smash the gas pedal on green and i still couldn't bite. Any help will definitely be appreciated.

2008 means no limited slip thus no traction on the starting line. You should have gotten in on that group buy for the OS Giken limited slip carrier. Having both rear wheels hook evenly will drop your 60 foot time a lot, which is everything.
I also think that with street tires it is not a matter of air pressure but "even" contact with the starting line surface.
You may also need drag racing tires.

^^^this is completely false! I have cut 1.87 60' times on 275/30/19 RE-11's at normal psi. there are way too many factors that could lead to you not hooking up. lowering tire pressure could have helped possibly, track prep and DA are the two main factors. check to see what the DA was on that day at that track. also, just do a small burnout to clean off the tires and do around the water box. a ton of info in the drag thread so look at that. my best has always been just leaving off idle and mashing the gas and shifting after the beep.

I'm going to assume the track was not prep well. I saw a 2010 STI running 13.7 and a 2014 STI running 14s. The 2010 had a cobb tune and full exhaust. The 2014 was stock. I think for me to really get 12s, i will need the track well prep. At the same time, i also saw a 2015 mustang with exhaust hitting 12.6s @ 111 mph. Thats pretty darn good if all he had was exhaust. It could had been tuned but i didn't spoke to the owner. There are a lot of factors but to those who did run 12s, was the track prep well for you to achieve that time?

Go to the track when it's cold outside, take out your spare, jack, make sure your gas tank is almost empty. Turn vsc off, sport mode on, solid 1st threw 2nd burn out. Wait till the second yellow light goes out, take your foot off the brake and floor it with a set of rear slicks = 12s and if your good with a full exhaust you might find 11s. Nitrous will find you 11s for sure.

Adjusting tire pressure is a double edged sword. What you gain in your 60' time you'll probably lose on the top end. Practice your launch. I'm not familiar with best launch for IS-F but it should be easy to get it below 2.00 with stock set up and street tires.

The IS-F should run 12's all day everyday with minimal prep at most drag strips. Low fuel, remove extra items in trunk and a careful launch with adjusted tire pressures for the track conditions. I've gone to the track from freezing to hot and have never been in the 13's without totally blowing the launch.
Track elevation is another thing to watch for however. What is the elevation at Sacramento?

Yes and at least two members here including myself have run a 12.0 on street tires. Only reason to run drag radials is if the temps are too cold to get a descent launch no matter what tire pressure you try on street tires.
To get into the 11's without N2O you NEED cold temps (55F or cooler), low track altitude, moderate weight reduction and a bit of tail wind and experience doesn't hurt either.
