Default sticky door sidings on a hot sunny day......

This happens all the time i use my car on a hot sunny day,my car does not have tints, after about an hour of driving my door sidings start to get wet and sticky (just near the windows) it will go away or dry up later when parked on a shaded place....my question is, should i wipe it off when this happens? I tried it last time but it was like wiping off a sticky substance left when you peel of stickers....i think this is normal with IS interior

I noticed this today while I was cleaning the car and had the doors open, the top of the door panel became sticky and wet looking after being in the sun. There is a recall for the is250/350 for 06-07 and early 08 models where Lexus will replace the dash and door panels because of this issue. I have not seen any recall documentation for the ISF but it may be worth heading to the dealer on a hot day when the problem is present to voice your concerns.

Unfortunately, at one point or another there was an oil based cleaner utilized on that area. With time, the heat generates a chemical reaction with the interior material. With time and during high temperatures the material starts to deteriorate, thus causing it to melt. You should probably not agitate it any longer. Try applying Aerospace 303 during the evening time and hopefully it will stabilize it. Good luck!

Im from the Philippines...and the lexus dealers here rely on the website recall page....so if i dont see this particular recall (which i dont) they wont accept this matter for recall (i know it sucks) so im looking for a DIY or a HOW-TO's to fix this problem

You're welcome! Aerospace 303 protectant could be ordered through Amazon. I'm in Miami Florida and hardly any retailer sell it locally either. Hopefully this can be an option for you.
