Has anyone else noticed their IS-F taking a few extra revolutions to start after it was recently run?

First thing in the morning and after it's been sitting a few hours, my car starts up just fine. But if I drive it, park it, then go back to start it again within an hour, it takes an extra second or two to crank.

I suspected it was a weakening battery, so I just replaced it, and the issue persists.

i've had the same issue for a few months now. it also happens sporadically; trying to start it after a couple hours, cranks real slow. it's to the point where it almost doesn't start but barely does. cold starts in the morning, even after the car's been sitting for a few days, no problem. of course the dealer can't find anything wrong bc they can't replicate it. battery is perfect. someone had posted something about the starter going bad and esp it being affected when the car is warm. i guess i'll keep driving it until it get's worse or my car simply won't start.

same here! mine would take several cranks before start but it only happens spontaneously...

Battery damn it , changed it or buy from Amazon red top battery save some $$$ and ready in the garage when u needed lolz

That's crazy i just started to notice this issue on mine. Ill probably go get my battery tested.

heads up guys. I had very mild hesitation and the dealer checked and they said the battery was fine. 2 weeks later Im calling in and canceling patients and scrambling to get to work. Freakn annoying. In the future I dont care what the battery costs, Im replacing them as soon as I see any hesitation. a couple hundred bucks savings is not worth sitting in a lot broken down . The heat eats up the battery. If you live in a warm place or do track time.....or do both like me LOL the batteries will die much sooner than later. They dont always register low. Same thing happened with my wifes 2013 Sienna recently

PS you can guy a Jump and Go unit for $60 that will allow you to jump your own car with a unit the size of a small tablet. Very very cool.

I'm still not convinced it's a battery issue. The battery that's in there is literally less than 24 hours old and I'm seeing the same symptoms.

I was surprised that I managed to kill the old battery in 29 months though...that seems suspiciously low. The battery in my DD is at least 5 years old, and the battery in my track Miata is over 10!

Yeah my battery is less than a year old. I'm actually at the dealer now and they're checking it again. Actually here for another issue; got check VSC, engine light, won't go into first gear, etc. waiting for the tech to get back to me.

LOL mine lasted 11 months . It was replaced in 2/14 and died 1/15

I was amazed too. They all said you never know how long the battery was on the shelf.

Looking at the service history of my 08, the previous owner had the battery replaced twice. The first went out at 38k miles, second lasted only 2 years(w/ 30k miles). Complaint was slow crank and needing a jump. They did not state if the battery was bad, just that it was replaced under warranty.

Here is what I've learned. The reason I do this is because of the way Wal Mart treats their employees.

1. I have a lot of vehicles and a boat. I need good batteries that will always start.
2. I buy the best battery that Wal Mart offers. The one with the unconditional 36 month full replacement.
3. I save the receipt and place it in a baggie under the battery in the battery tray.
4. Any issues and back they go. Full replacement. I've even replaced them in their parking lot.
5. Usually they will not last the full three years. If they do, they'll last five. This works really well in the desert because few batteries last more than two years.
6. Haven't purchased a battery in years.

By the way. Clean the terminals with a wire brush and wipe them with a contact improver like dielectric grease.

All good points and I personally rotate a battery charger (400 mA Battery Tender) between all my cars if I'm not driving them.

I will throw a batter tender on 3-4 times a year just to make sure, mine is a little different symptom than you guys describe. It's cold where I live but my home and work have heated garages my home garage I keep at 10deg C average room temp in home is about 21C for reference. My car starts first crank, at my work the garage temp is about 21C which is roughly 70F and it seems it cranks a couple times before it fires (after sittin +6hrs) but never close to not starting it just takes a couple more cranks my wife or a non car person likely wouldn't even notice it.
