Need advice from my ISF Fam! about RECALL NOTICE
So, a few months ago we had these two recall notices for our cars regarding the fan and some type of fuel injector thing.
OK so i put it off to the side (holidays, work, training, ect..) until i had time to call for an appointment to get the recalls done, just how ive done so in the past.
this pass weekend i called my local lexus dealer, that i usually got to, for an appointment for my two recalls and a 60k mile service (so i can kill 3 birds with one stone right).
When i get a recall notice i assume just that. a recall they are going to replace faulty parts right? wrong! They told me that the Fan will need to get inspected to see if it actually needs to be replaced or not....
it gets better. for the fuel injector or whatever, they said that they wont be doing anything to it. they said i would get another notice in the mail when lexus figures out a solution to the problem then i come back in to get it fixed....
so i have two recall papers thats supposedly nothing is getting replaced? it didnt make since to me and i didnt have the notices on hand because i never had this problem.. so i backed out and told them that ill check my paper work that i got in the mail cus it didnt add up to me.
another thing i will do is call another lexus dealer ship and see if they give my the same spill.
Help me out ppl! am i tripping or is this a usual matter how things work on recalls? cus ive never had that scenario happen to me. i will read through it when i get the chance to..

Relax it's only 4 screws that need replacing for the fan recall. They will only change the fan assembly if there is damage to it. At this time there is not a repair for the fuel seal problem. We are all still waiting patiently.

Sounds pretty normal to me. Went in for the recall expecting it to be a 2 hour job to replace the screws. It was only after they inspected my fan and found it was faulty that they had to replace it.

The cooling fan has a solution/fix right now. The fuel pressure does not. I totally get the OP wanting to take the car in for multiple fixes, but hopefully the pressure one is ready soon. Some prefer to take the car in for individual recalls, others at all once.

yeah not a big deal, they'll fix the fan bolt recall, not the fuel pressure line because theres no solution for it yet.

Ever since the "unintended acceleration" issue, Lexus is hypersensitive to notifying customers. I think the OP is misunderstanding their intent. I also think Lexus is too gun shy now.

Yea no need to freak out. My service manager said cooling fan bolt fix is in and fuel sensor fix will be in around first week of Feb. He told me to just bring in my car when both recall fixes are in unless I want to do cooling fan issue now.

Got my fan recall fixed yesterday along with an oil change (provided own oil). They refilled my gas tank for me too.
52$ in labor, ~50$ in free gas. Thanks, Steven's Creek Lexus. Whoever drove it drove the hell out of it though since the trip computer said 4 mpg for the 3 miles he drove.

I never got free gas, not sure I want it either though, what if they put in 87 from like a local gas station.

My dealer sucks, they didn't even know of that fuel leak recall, then they tried to charge me $160 to diagnose it despite the notice saying if you smell a strong fuel smell to bring it in, regardless of there not being a fix yet!
