11 isf radiator leak photo
2011 60K isf
I noticed the level of coolant is under the 'LOW'
Visually checked my engine room with just hood opened up .. no problem .. any sign of leaking
And then visually check the below of the engine with the car lifted up and removed under cover
First I checked water pump just in case.. no problem
But..
I figured out the evidence of coolant leaking under the radiator itself
So I asked dealership what's their recommandation
They said that I should replace the whole radiator assy
So I decided to replace that and made an appointment to do the job
The whole cost of replacing it is around 780 USD maybe ( I'm Korean.. difference in currency )
Do check the radiator itself when there is no sign of leaking coolant while look at just hood opened up
When the radiator is not completely blown up ( like my case ) , you couldn't see actually the coolant bleeding out
but you can find the evidence - dried coolant - because of the evaporation from the temp in the engine room
keep driving under this minor leaking with refilling the coolant ? I don't know for this high performace car .. replacing it might be the only way
Take cares ~

Went in for radiator bolt recall and they broke the plastic part of the radiator that connected to the hose. So I am getting a new one for free but 2 weeks wait because they have to order it from japan. Not sure if this is true but at least I get a 2014 IS250 to drive around...lucky me.

I just looked up SARD and they sell one specifically for the ISF. All aluminum, part number 29058, and it's about $1600. I'd keep replacing the OEM one under warranty, then buy the SARD when warranty ends.

Some of us are well over 100k without these issues. My Supra radiator didn't give up until 125k miles and over 15 years old. Cracks in the plastic tanks are fairly common, but very rare under warranty. Aluminum brings it's own issues - cracking, corrosion, fitment (I spent 3 hours just getting the fan shroud to fit my PWR replacement for the Supra properly), and with the IS-F you still need a transmission cooling loop to stabilize the ATF. Not exactly simple, but not hard either.
