I'd love to have my headlights done, but I'd most likely have to send them off somewhere so I think I'm just going to go for the LED upgrade.
I actually tried painting the exterior with a tint coat to dull the chrome, but it doesn't look that great and dimmed the lights more than I expected. Light LaminX tint actually would've been much better.
ISFPat is the only one that comes to mind who has the inner housing painted, but I'm sure there are some 2IS guys who've done this, maybe even on obsidian!

Pole Position
I had a local shop tint my headlights (not sure if its 3M or Suntek)
I think they look pretty good, and will be protected (I winter drive this car)
I've pulled apart and painted the headlights on my last 2 vehicles.. so this was much quicker and easier hah

Thanks man! I'll be honest with you guys, when I saw the headlight taken off I got freaked out. If you are thinking of a DIY, IMHO I would spend the $ and have it done by someone who knows what they are doing. I wouldn't screw around and risk the damage by practicing on a $1300(each) headlight. I wish I took a pic, there was brackets and harnesses like crazy all over the back of the light. The guy doing mine is an Aero Space engineer, he has done a TON of lights, and he's never had an issue resealing a light. I've seen horror stories (just google CinCity designs) of people screwing up their lights by doing it incorrectly. I'll post a pic of the back of the lights when I get them back to show you what I'm talking about
