IS-F vs Hyundai Genesis 5.0
I test drove a 5.0 Hundyai Genesis yesterday, 420hp with an 8 speed paddle shift. I was told it was comparable to the IS-F. It is not. The body rocks from side to side in cornering, and there is no strong pull in the acceleration, even when flooring the throttle in full auto. It's a nice car, but for 52K you could get a very clean IS-F. After the drive, I took the salesman out in my car to show him the difference. He was speechless.

I went to go look at them before I bought my F to take 1 out for a spin and when I floored it didn't feel much faster then my G35. The salesman tried to tell me it was faster then the F and that Hyundai was 1 of the 10 best car manufactures in the world. My business partner laughed in his face ha ha

I drove a 5.0 rspec with the tighter suspension. The chasis was very floppy. The car inside wasn't bad at all and the engine was smooth. Remember, this is a 4600LB car!! Given that fact they're lucky it did 0-60 in 5.0 even with the power it has!

Definitely not in the same class. The Genesis is a much heavier car to pull around for a 420hp V8. I was invited to the initial unveiling to test drive the new Genesis 5.0 R and while it was a nice car, great cruiser - you can't even compare this to an ISF. The Genesis felt very old man car - supple ride, steering felt disconnected from the road. You get a lot of car for the money though compared to the Benz and BMW in the same class.

Lexus Test Driver
i have no clue why everyone likes to compare various random cars to each other, just doesn't make sense. I would expect the Genesis to be a big plush sedan not a small 4 door like the F. The genesis wasn't made to be a sports sedan but to be a refined sedan at a lower price point than the German competitors or even the Lexus GS class.
That being said why even make this comparison?
