As long as your wife is ok, that's all that matters. Cars can be replaced people can't. Cars can be repaired but when it comes to people it's tricky. Not to jack your thread, but my last accident 5 yrs ago-I got t boned. My left shoulder wast shattered, and I have 4 levels of fusion and an artificial disk in my cervical spine.

I hope you are doing better rickna. Sounds like something that won't ever be completely gone. I am still thankful that no serious harm came to any of my family. The wife was headed to pick up the 1 year old, and the wife came out with a seat belt rash on her collar, airbag burn on her leg, and soreness.

I met the adjuster today, and left him to do his business. He just called me back, and told me he submitted the claim to his boss as a total loss. He said due to the value of the car, there had to be two more OK's from his boss, and then one more level. Unless they want to throw rocks at his estimate then it looks like we will be car shopping for a new F soon.

Thanks again for all the well wishes guys.

My previous car before my F got totaled about a month back. Guy in front of me braked and I braked and we both managed to stop, but the guy behind said his brakes didn't work. Rear ended my car at full speed and pushed it into the toe hook of the pick up in front.

State Farm at the time told me that if the damage exceed's 85% of the blue book value of the car, then they will total it. My car sustained quite a bit of damage since it got sandwiched in between two vehicles so it was totalled. From the photos, your car doesn't seem to have sustained as much damage and also the blue book for your car is pretty high (Lexus retains their value pretty well). If i were you, I would take it to the absolute best shop you can find. Here locally we have a shop that does fantastic work on slightly higher end cars like mercedes, lexus, bmw, I would avoid any of those cheap paint and body shops. I was given a choice before they totaled my car to take it to the shop of my choosing and I hope the insurance your dealing with does that same. If it is indeed not totaled, at least you can get the repairs done from the best place possible.

ISFinICT Thanks. Yeah, I'll never be the same, but I still here. I'm just glad to hear your wife is ok.
