Back to Road America
Hey everyone,
Haven’t been on here much lately, but thought I would share some recent experience with the F on track, specifically the wonderful Road America again. I had written up my thoughts on my prior experience with the F, my 2009, here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...d-america.html
This time around was a much different experience. The weather was warm, 77 degrees, and the car, now a 2011, was shod in new PSS, BC Coils/Swift springs, Borla exhaust, PPE headers and JoeZ intake. Now a lot of time had passed between my two track days with the two cars, but man was the car an absolute joy to drive! I would say I was one of only a handful of non Mustangs, Vettes, Ferraris, BMWs or P-cars, and the look on people’s faces when they heard my car pass was awesome. As many of you know, this car with headers/exhausts sounds downright beastly.
On track the car just kept pulling and pulling down RA’s long straights, (hit a indicated 150mph) only to be brought to an abrupt but controlled stop as the brakes clamped down. Once you give your confidence to these brakes, they continue to reward you. It was great to consistently push the car, brake and downshifting later and later into the corners. If you have been to RA, you know how daunting coming down into 5 can be….
As this was just a track day, I had a hard time getting any completely clean traffic free laps in, but I was easily hanging up there with some of the C5 Vettes and 997 911’s through most of my sessions. If you ever have a chance to get out to a track with an F, do so, you will not be disappointed.
Cheers

Very cool !! Thanks for sharing. I can imagine what your F sounded like at WOT. Any video of the event. I am one of the few here who have been on the track with their F and I have to agree, if anyone has a chance DO IT DO IT DO IT !!!! I donated a set of front tires to the track Gods at my last session but I ran full tilt with ambient temps of 109 degrees in my final session. I can imagine what the F feels like on the track with cold air. Kudos to you and your F !!

nice! RA is an amazing track. I used to do NESBA track days there with my ZX10. so much fun and would love to take the F there.

Looks like you had some fun with the car! Glad to see more IS-F owners out at the track Just curious, what are you using for a brake setup? I've never been to RA since I live in northern California and normally frequent the tracks we have around there (Laguna Seca, Sonoma Raceway, Thunderhill and Buttonwillow) but hope to visit soon. RA is definitely near the top of my list of tracks I need to drive
I know that track is absolutely brutal on brakes so in the case you don't have much pad or rotor left I thought I'd mention we are doing a brake special right now on every brand we support. Here is the link:
