a lot of cars like tuned bmw, Mercedes, and high end exotics use dry ice or ice to cool down their car. Its actually pretty cool, at a track event or dyno day, they simply pop open the hood or trunk, drop some in and the car cools significantly.

Interesting!! Any idea if that's safe for our car, or is it generally considered safe in any situation/car?

I have seen this many time in AZ. We kind of need all the help we can get. Most of the time its SC cars or turbos. I could have used this at my track day a few weeks back since my oil temp hit max

This will serve a basic purpose on any car at the track or strip. Elsewhere, the "gains" are marginal at best. If you want to effectively cool your IAT on the street you need water injection or cryo2....again, small gains for the $/effort on this specific platform in stock form.

What is the goal of this? To say you have 3 more horsepower? Are you really going to do this every day on the street? Then what's the point of doing it on a dyno? Bragging rights? I'm just not seeing it...

dry ice is only needed to cool the car down quicker so that you may get in more runs at the track.

On the street this isn't necessary because your car should never get as hot
