Can anyone tell me if the pads on my F are worn? The dealer says i need to change them stat, but i * think* there's time on them.. however, i'm not a mechanic.. Any input is appreciated.

I just changed front pads and rotors, but the dealer said the rears have 5mm and a lot of life in them. That said, try to change them before the rotors are scored.

after reading this I'm kinda curious. On a typical car it would be 70/30 or 90/10 breaking something like that but since thie Ediff crap of the 08s would this wear the rear brakes more than normal??

Had an 08 for 70k miles and now an 11 with 29k miles, driving style is the same - slightly agressive.
I can tell you for sure that the 08's rear brakes wear out sooner than the 11. Even after 300 miles on the track, the rears on the 11 still have plenty of material left. The 08's rear pads needed replacing at 45k miles.

I just had mine replaced 3 weeks ago and I can tell you they are worse than mine. I am doing regular track days so I didn't want to play with worn pads. Play it safe. You can get them cheap from Sewell. I got pads and rotors from $585 shipped. A drop in he bucket for your safety

There is only ONE reason to change pads before they are completely worn out. You don't want to buy new rotors. There is no safety factor, and nothing bad will happen except your brakes will get really loud. Even metal on metal, the car stops well. AMHIK.
