This confuses me.. I think I need to find another stock IS-F in the area for a comparison. While my car does sound awesome under hard acceleration, it seems to have a lot drone at lower RPMs, which I find annoying. There's either something wrong with my exhaust or it's not completely stock (as I thought).

Hi All,
The ISF (in my opinion) really needs to be driven in manual mode to get the best sound and also to be in the best RPM range. When you let off the gas in manual the exhaust has a very nice "blub, blub" sound to it. You do not need to be going fast either. It sounds nice even before getting into the secondary intake and also can help resolve the "lag" that I experienced when getting on it. Make no mistake, the IS F is fast by any definition of the word and is a super saloon. However, as is the case in most anything, there are faster and even better handling cars out there. The C63 with the p31 package that I traded my '12 IS F for is one of those. Believe me, coming from an '09 CPO and my new '12 IS F the C63 is a different animal. In 'C' mode it takes off in second gear but still has tons of torque and is quite capable. I now have 620 miles on it and, according to the on board computer, it is getting at best 20.3 MPG. I'm thinking that this may be due to the lighter reciprocating assembly borrowed from the SLS as I have already gotten on it a bit due to nitwits trying to block me from getting on the freeway.
To the member who asked about trade in value: I received $46k after negotiations and actually received a check for $3374 from MB after the deal closed. So effectively, I got the C63 for $77800 or so. All new cars, the IS F included, lose value after the first year and on.
So, after about 620 miles, the C63 is holding up well and sounds even better than when I first got it. But, I really wish I could have kept the IS F too.

Very tunable. There are several different tunes available as well as a supercharger and transmission tuning too. But since this has the P31 package, I feel that with 481hp at 6800 rpm and 453 lb ft of torque at 5200 rpm it is enough for now. By the way, the redline is 7200 rpm which is pretty good for a 379 cu in engine (6.2L). Also, from what I have read from others, the real HP is about 510 and the 0-60 times are all very conservative from Mercedes-Benz.
