considering buying an F. pros and cons?

Gas personally isn't too big of a worry. I mean, the gas economy is much better than its competitors, but if you're using the F as a daily, you'll probably have to fill up more times in any given month than what you're used to with the 250. OEM replacement parts are somewhat high, but i took this into account when I first bought the F. It is what it is, and with the F being a high performance model, I expected the high costs of parts to come with it. Brakes and rotors come out to nearly $2k MSRP, but there are vendors who can sell them for a little less. But another pro that hasn't been highlighted is the rarity factor. Most people still don't know what an IS F is, but when you catch them glaring at the car or having that OMG moment, that's pretty cool to see.
Now, if you're leaning towards the LS, you'll have way more creature comforts than you can ever imagine. So much room for the driver and your passengers, and luxury just oozes out of that vehicle. My parents and I are actually at the dealer right now looking at some LS models, but I always see Mom straying towards the SUVs available. You won't have the speed of the IS F, but it is pretty luxurious and IMO a boss car on the roads.

Best reviews I've found online...
LS460 F Sport:
ISF:
I'm actually planning on cross-shopping the ISF with the new Mustang and Corvette later this year. Right now I'm thinking ISF.

Interestingly I have an EVO X as well (which I'd also keep)and am considering a used ISF. I'm focusing on 2010 or 2011 , and I understand that while the 2010 got the LSD the 11 had other enhancements that further enhanced the handling (only from reading some articles here and various reviews at the time).
I'm curious how much bias existing owners would give an equal mileage 2011 over a 2010. It wouldn't be tracked or anything, just a sporty daily driver. The looks, engine note, and Toyota reliability are the major plusses for me. I do like good steering feel which some threads have implied was improved on the 11 over prior models.

I have a 2012 F and it has averaged just short of 20mpg since day one mostly city. On the highway I see 26/27mpg regularly. My dealer changes the oil and filter, does all the maint. checks, washes it and cleans the interior for about $100.00. I am at 11,000 miles with two track days and plenty of brakes left. No complaints with the car but I do miss my '09 Corvette sometimes.

I've had my 2013 ISF for a year now, and I still go "wow" every time I drive this car. The interior is beautiful, the power, engine note, the performance, the features....I can go on and on.
If anything, I will get another Lexus some day.
I'll take this car over anything right now.

I'm an old guy, but I've always liked sporty cars. I moved into a fancy neighborhood, and felt like I needed something better than my Mazdaspeed to visit neighbors and take friends to dinner. Anyway, that was the excuse.
Enter the F. To people who don't know cars, it looks like a nice luxury car, very comfortable. To those neighbors who obviously appreciate fine machinery, the ones with Jags, Porsches and M3's, I get props and extra looks when I drive by them.
And of course, my childhood need for speed is amply compensated. I once had the chance to drive a race-prepared Shelby GT350....the F is faster.

LS is no slouch in the speed department.. it's agile for a heavy luxury car and it feels like your driving on a cloud..but IS-F once you hear the IS-F growl during wide open throttle you will get addicted to the sound.

Yesterday there was a Beemer ahead of me, a brand new 5 series, not the M but the next one. He wouldn't let me around on corners, then I followed him onto an expressway entrance and he floored it. He was very surprised how fast I went around him, and followed me close for the next mile, reading the badge.

No right pull with my car. Ever. Usually this kind of thing is no mystery to fix - thrust angle is off, or wheelbase differences from side to side are too great, or the tires are crap. A good alignment tech, (read someone who actually understands alignment, not just how to get the lights green on the machine) can sort out this kind of issue but it won't be inexpensive because guys with the knowledge and skill to do this right don't come cheap.
My car has nearly 100k on it now, and it still drives like new despite track weekends and hard use. Long term fuel economy is 21.0 mpg over the last couple of years (since last battery disconnect). I'd prefer it had a limited slip, but it's just not in the budget for now. It has served its purpose quite well and I expect it will continue to do so.
