Update:
Changed out the air fuel sensor. The lights came right back. So wasted $125 from amazon. Turned out to be installation error. The extension wire for the sensor was touching the header at the top. Very hard to see and harder to put a hand to. Anyways, got it repositioned. The wires seem to be fine. Seems like the only thing that melted was the plastic outer cover. Drove it around several times. The lights are still off. Hope this helps.

congrats, I'm glad to see it wasn't anything major as I'll be taking the same route soon and my car is fairly new as well.
BTW did you re-use your existing header gaskets? or did you install new ones?
