9:15pm.
I was driving around town with my F on the left lane of a two-lane road.
Speed limit: 50mph
Speedometer: ~40mph.
There were about seven cars in front of me (the car in front was going slowly). Before I tried to merge onto the right lane, two cop cars zip by. The first cop car continues going but the one behind it suddenly slows down and cruises next to me + near my right tail light for a good 10 seconds (probably checking for license plate? I just have the dealership name plate since I haven't gotten my license plates)
Then, he pulls away.
"What was that?" I thought. "Was he keeping an eye on me?" I murmured to myself.
My friend, who was sitting on the passenger seat, told me the cop looked at him before he took off.
What do you all think? Do you think the cop was keeping an eye on me because of the type of car I was driving? Keep in mind I was going well under the speed limit.
Have any of you experienced a similar case like this one?

It happens more at night when you're driving but I'm sure they do that to all cars that gets their attention. Had two cops do a U-turn and followed me for a good 2 mile all the way to my house and then drove off while another two followed me for a good mile and then took off and it all happened on different days. Of course that was with my M3 coming home from work at night.
They're just doing their job so it didn't bother me.

I would say this: Sometimes (Most of the time) we just slow down to look at cool *** cars. Sometimes we look to see see if it has tags and stickers that are current. Once in a while the car might match a wanted vehicle, but you wouldn't slow down beside it to check it out, unless you were trying to get a look at the occupants to see if they match too. BTW, Dealer tags are abused all the time by small car dealer lots. I haven't been stopped yet for my tints, but I did go on the lighter side to avoid that and to see at night when it's raining... Best advice...... Escort PASSPORT 9500ix, even for me! That's what cops do, observe, nothing to sweat Bro.

I've had police cars tale me for a few miles on a few occasions. I could care less though as I'm not guilty of anything. What I've noticed is you have to put a little effort into driving it as slow as everyone else. Snow Mode helps. If you go at a natural pace, which in my opinion for this car is ~1/2 throttle at ~3,500rpms, you'll be making some noise and dusting most folks at stop lights... drawing attention to your car in the process. I don't know how you guys with I/H/E get around without any trouble.
One time I was pulling out of a 25mph residential onto a 45mph frontage road and gave it a steady 1/4 into 3/4 throttle to get her up to speed quickly. There were a bunch of power-walking moms from the neighborhood on the sidewalk who turned my way and gave me stink-eye. Even though I didn't break any traffic laws, I remember thinking to myself, "I bet one of those ladies is going to call the police department later and report to the traffic division to be on the lookout for a maniac in a blue Lexus".

This is what I have noticed as well. The ISF is not recognized except by the very few who know what it is and want to race.
A few years ago, got a chance to drive the GTR for 30 minutes around town and definitely notice people pointing and staring all the time.

I don't know about you guys but the ISF is a total sleeper. Nobody (except car people) give the car a second glance here. Everyone thinks it's an IS250 with wheels. The cops don't give me a second look and i'm not running a front plate on it.
Pop in the yellow 911 turbo though and I get pulled over for no front plate every other week. Cops don't profile... yea right.
