I have the borla but was thinking of cutting the resonators, has anyone done this or can chime in on how this will sound?
there was one member, 4everkidd, who removed the mid muffler/resonator. he said it sounded a lot louder and just what he wanted. if you search, you can find his thread w/ a photo. i've too considered chopping the reso off but i'm too worried about the increased drone. when i contacted borla, they said removing the reso would def increase the drone.
Just ordered the Borla catback. Would've gone JoeZ in my 20's. Heard both at the last bbq and they both sounded great, however the Borla appeared a bit deeper and more toned down. Guess I'm getting older.
In the same boat.. I heard both at the socal meet and Borla was more subtle.. I actually just installed the Borla yesterday and i still think it's a bit loud.. however, my kid (who i drive to school every am), didn't seem to notice
Has ANYONE ever gotten pulled over in SoCal for noise? I'm hesitant to punch it
Not yet, but that would be my next purchase after my sound system upgrade (does anyone else think the stock ML system has no bass whatsoever?)
Hi, if you playing through your iPod make sure you have the settings correct on the iPod itself, (Bass Enhancer turned or whatever it's called). It does affect the output on the ML system.

True, I turned off bass enhancer (no equalizer settings), and also when I use aux I make sure the volume isn't max on the ipod, just a little less than max. Sounds a lot better.
I raised the back of the car, detached the muffler section and used a mallet to knock the venturis into the axle-back section of the exhaust. Borla recommends you tack weld it, but so far I have had no problems nor rattling without the welding. Put the mufflers back on and you're all set. They sent me 4 venturis but I only needed 2. It's VERY straight forward, even I could do it! Note that it is a very tight fit (and it should be, or else it'd rattle), you won't be able to get the venturis in using barehands. Think "virgin on wedding night".
The venturis are apparently too far along in the exhaust system for the restriction to have any impact on performance, and my butt dyno verifies this. It certainly removes the "boominess" of the droning, but still retaining the HP gains, beautiful WOT sound and V8 rumble at idle.
Would you please post some pictures.. I recently got the venturis after annoying Borla enough.. Now I need to install it.. just need some pictures of the finished results.

Can you record the sound before and after the venturis instalation.

Can you provide more information? I raised the back.. but removing I can't remove the muffler.. It seems that I have to remove the rear bumper and then remove the exhaust rubber hanger.
Bought the Borla for $875 shipped off autoanything.com. Can't beat the price. I've got PPE headers coming from Figs. Seems like the PPE/Borla combo is the way to go.
