I am very sensitive to drone. I have had Corsa systems on my previous cars because of this. The Borla cat back system on my is F does not drone, I was keeping my fingers crossed during the install. I can see how the Borla axle back could drone because it lacks the middle resonator that the Borla cat back has.

I am hoping for the Borla to be my first mod on my F. Glad to hear there is little to no drone. I am thinking of ordering it from Borla directly and just having them toss in the venturis just in case. I figure if it doesn't affect performance then why not get it to be as drone free as is humanly possible.

If you get the axle back only. Doesn't the stock mid piping have a resonator on it? So shouldn't the stock resonator stop the droning? Thinking about get a axle back but hate drone.

Love my Borla Cat Back, the downshift blips sound MEANNNN. This exhaust sounds so good to me I often turn off the stereo just to enjoy it. The only thing that sounds better than a tuned V8 with exhaust is a V10 (All time favorites Carerra GT and LFA) or a V12.
They have TOP NOTCH customer service as well. I had an issue with my 14 year old Borla exhaust on my truck and they went above and beyond to resolve the issue.
I will buy their products for every car I purchase if they have an application.

i still dont like the piping on the borla, the way it looks, from the back. but im considering one now that RR racing is coming out with real tips to add on through the back. i wish the piping was nicer.

RR intake, tune, PPE headers, Borla cat back and I live in SoCal. Just recently passed smog just like that as well. I also DD my car and have absolutely no issues ever. I’ve been pulled over in my car before funny thing is the CHP officer got me for tints lol and complimented my car and said he loved how it sounds and looked. I’ve never had any problems with CHP or Sheriff’s for that matter. Very calm and quiet when cruising but WOT sounds lovely I can’t get enough of the sound.

Stock ISF with Borla Axle-back.
I don't know what people call "drone" but it is indeed boomy at higher gears/ low RPM, especially if I'm cruising around and I want to talk to my passengers, I'll just drive in manual because it's really deep in regular Drive when taking off from a stop. If I'm passing or accelerating on the highway, I'll bump it down to at least 7th.
Majority of the time, I'm driving by myself. Sometimes I wish it was louder but that's what my Borla Catback is for (it's not complete, yet)

Having ran V8's most of my life and never had drone issues, anyone care to repeat the past?
Simple setup; axe the secondary cats for the Borla crossover 2 in, 2 out. Fit some mufflers near and the rest is straight pipes to the Tips which might look pretty strange on your F.
I'm still in the V6 camp w/the 350 but it is real tempting to try this.
Borla cross over with baffles

Any reason it wouldn't work for your 5.0?
