I spoke to a guy at the dyno today who worked at Underground Racing. He said what they are doing to their 1700hp Lamborghini's is leaving the factory electronic alone, and using seperate injectors and fuel control computers to meter the additional fuel with boost. I would assume if someone was to work on this, a custom fuel rail with mounts for additional injectors per cylinder could be designed to work.

Why not?! lol I certainly wouldn't mind a 600 whp IS-F! haha

It really isn't possible, so this may be yet another scam. With more power, you need more fuel. To add more fuel, you need to freaking be able to tell the ECU how much to add per given amount of air (tune, which requires the ECU to be cracked). I'm not an expert, and this is purely an educated speculation. Every car has a given "MAP," but you have to understand that these maps are meant to be universal - the car isn't just sold here in Seattle; the set parameters need to be able to adjust to different variables. Unfortunately, these parameters can only adjust so much. The goal of a tune is therefore to reset the parameters accordingly (AFR - you don't want detonation!). Their project ISF will likely blow up, soon. lol

(not lecturing here, just thinking out loud SeanGTS!)

I don't get it
MAP based verse AFM based was my question, does the car take airflow measurements from volume of air, or pressure?

It would seem tuning with methanol could be interesting.

It was a Lexus Corp ISF prototype given to Fox Market for that project.

Just read the article on the new 2013 fox marketing turbo isf... its done again and works i guess with minimal boost. Cant see why they would keep building them if they dont work. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/lexus/2...-ar138724.html I gotta call these people and see what the deal is, i know we can build a turbo kti cheaper than 17k.

They reused the same turbo kit that they used on the first project car. I recalled Fox marketing trying to sell just the kit on this forum. The kit was stripped from the car before it was crushed.

Car had to be crushed because it had no VIN and it was only for a promotional use.

The better question is why haven't they dynoed the car with the turbo kit and/or tracked it to see if it really works?

I'm pretty sure they dynoed it but did not release the results, no company develops a custom turbo kit and ends up not dynoing it to check the AFR's across the board.. the kit most likely had some issues and the cost of R&Ding a car without a solid engine management system is more than enough reasons for them to not release the kit to the public.

Many newer cars even Honda Civic's have very difficult to crack ECU's. By the time a reputable company finishes the crack, develops a solid platform and tuner friendly software and releases to the public, the car will pretty much be on its way out and getting ready for the next car generation.

So IMO, no true engine management system solution and R&D to make it running perfect = it really didn't work.
