I can by pass the factory wire and "excite" it with an ACC wire but i really don't wanna see any red dash lights lighting up

just out of curiousity.....what were you going to do with a 16v setup?
thought about doing 6 sa-8s on 2 bc3500s at 16v but decided to go the other route and just do a single zv3 12. If its possible to bypass i might still do 14.8 or 15 just so it doesn't drop as hard, even with 2 bt 100s, 2 big amps drop me down to 11v off the stock alt.

i hate to say this because i love going big.....but a 16v setup is a total waste of time for what you just posted. Stick with a 12v setup.

a 16v setup charges @ 18.5-19v dc. You don't need that unless you are an SPL competitor and a pretty serious one. Not only that, but your car is not going to like that very much. For most people that daily drive a car with a 16/19v setup, they have multiple alternators with at least one dedicated JUST to the car and the others dedicated just to the system. You don't have room for another alternator in an ISF. Well never say never but........ive been there and its tight bro LOL

for music, a 12v setup, which SHOULD charge over 14.4 (for most cars), is plenty. Get an alternator with plenty of amperage and it won't drop below 12v when running.

XS Power now carries 14v batteries which need to be charged @ 16v (when running) and that might be a better idea if you wan't more power but less headache. You still have to set the alternator to charge much higher then stock and the car still does not want it to go above 13.7 without being bypassed. If you bypass the factory plug, you will almost certainly throw a battery light on the dash. I am not sure if there is any other consequences to bypassing as i did not try it yet.

Before all this got out of hand, we had a solid discussion going. Lets continue the good stuff without violating the rules against personal attacks.

Hey Steve where did you get your input from, the stock amp? I am trying to to a setup soon and getting all the materials together but was wondering how you went about getting your input. Could I use a LOC without losing too much sound quality?

One thing I am always curious about is whether people remove their factory subs after installing aftermarket subs for the sake of net weight savings/exchange.

I did and another thing is removing the oem sub open up the sub opening so more bass will get into the cabin.

Ohh, but do you have some kind of lid or enclosure piece to cover the holes? They'd look awful if it's just left open like that.

Factory sub grille is still there so no one will notice.
