Default Are ballasts covered by warranty?

Found my passenger side headlight went out, went to check the bulb and tried it on the working driver's side and its good. My question to you guys is if its covered under warranty? I have an 08 with the extended platinum warranty. Thanks for your help guys!

I would think ballasts are covered under the platinum warranty.
You can email or call your service advisor to confirm coverage.

thanks for the input guys, I think I got some water in the headlight and it must have seeped into the ballast on that side... maybe I can have them replace the headlight too?

Must have been from that monsoon we had in NY the past 2 days... they should replace this under the 50k warranty and/or your platinum warranty

Here is whats going to happen... If it's covered under warranty, they order ONE new headlamp housing that comes with a new ballast inside it...

Then they transfer ALL bulbs, covers, wire harness & bracket...

That's the "by the book answer"...

They (the dealership) can NOT just replace a ballast on a 2008 IS housing...

You can, via DIY..
