Downshifting in M Mode with Sport Enabled
Will the F always accept the downshift in the M mode with sport enabled?
I have noticed that in the Sport mode alone, it sometimes will refuse the downshift.
As someone new to the F, I would appreciate some guidance here.

It will only refuse to shift in Manual mode if you are requesting a gear too low for the current speed, or if the auto trans fluid is not up to a certain temperature (as far as I know).
Also, if you leave the car in manual mode, it will downshift for you as you slow down.
What exactly are you experiencing?

You can see that I clearly do not have much experience with the F's shifting capabilities and methods.

unless the '12's are that much better, the foot of the accelerator accompanied with a flick of the paddle will do a rev matched downshift... i think just letting off the accelerator causing a downshift would be bad in some cases...

I just found the ISF Shift Thread. It appears that I simply need to take my foot off the accelerator to get the rev matched downshift in the M mode with Sport enabled. Is there a difference in downshifting if the VDIM is disabled?

I took the F out on an open stretch where I could hit 120 and test the rev-matched downshifts in the M mode with sport enabled. It worked beautifully--a very exhilarating experience--and addictive as well.
It was clearly my lack of knowledge. It blipped with every downshift and upshifted with lightning speed.
It's a ride.
