Thanks guys. I really appreciate the compliments. Although, clean is not the best description for those pics. The car was crazy dirty. Here is a "clean" pic.

Op, you have a very sexy car. My inspiration!

Sorry for the n00b question, but what does AFS stand for and what does it do?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Club!!!

AFS = Adaptive Front lighting System

Which is found on most 2006 to 2010 IS's... & many other Lexus Models.

No, we can only hardwire the LED strip to work at 50% or 100%.. When installed on any 2006 to 2010 IS..

Ok guys, I have to ask. Yes the lights look sick!

But I backed out of a purchase because I have my reservations about it. Tell me if im right here....

1. You have to turn the lights (parking) on for them to work.

2. The leds will either be wired full bright, or 50% bright. ( will not change from drl, to accent lighting when the headlights are on)

3. The LED light will not turn off when your indicator lights are working ( a safety feature so oncoming traffic sees them)

4. If you have AFS, you will have an error light on the dash.

5. The mounting points dont fit properly, and you will only have 2 bolts connecting the lights to the body. And you have to shave or modify the frame to fit a buldge on them as well.

6. There is a chance that if you buy some of these, that they could be pre-TSB and might bubble inside.

Please anyone chime in.

Only if you buy the sewell ones. IF you find some from Ebay or junk yard you have to splice in which case no turning on the parking light to get them to work is not needed

Correct, although jeff Lange has found another way to get them to work exactly like they do on the 2011+ cars
3. The LED light will not turn off when your indicator lights are working ( a safety feature so oncoming traffic sees them)
I am confused by this/don't know what you mean
4. If you have AFS, you will have an error light on the dash.
Correct, but it can be removed or have tape put over it
5. The mounting points dont fit properly, and you will only have 2 bolts connecting the lights to the body. And you have to shave or modify the frame to fit a buldge on them as well.
I believe 3 out of 4 bolts will mount up properly
6. There is a chance that if you buy some of these, that they could be pre-TSB and might bubble inside.
Correct
Please anyone chime in.

Happy to chime in..!!

1. Correct, unless you wire them differently or to a stand alone switch.

2. Correct.

3. Incorrect, the LEDs always remain on with the turn signals are engaged. Just like 2011+

4. Correct, the AFS OFF light will flash.. Which is solved by opening the gauge cluster and covering the led.

5. Incorrect, the headlight housing will plug in and mount correctly to all points. The plastic bumper bracket that attaches to underneath the light needs to be slight dremmeld to fit over a wire cap. Only two of the three small screws line up on that bracket.. Really not a big deal at all.

6. Correct, depends where and who you buy from.. Currently all the old part numbers should have been removed from stock.

Hope this helps..

Saw these lights on on Obsidian F driving down the road. I pulled up next to the guy, but he was distracted with something so didn't realize another Obsidian F was right beside him. I was stoked just because I've never encountered another F on the road - you know, you're driving along, you see a 2IS, but immediately you see the reflectors and you know it's not an F. I see the reflectors and confirm the four exhausts then I think, "How totally cool, I run into another Obsidian F on the open road!"

Anyway, it was dark and as I passed him and looked back I could see his lights were obviously the new ones, and I really don't care for the look. I really expected to like it, but it reminded me too much of Acura's samurai theme. So, count me in for loving the 2012 wheels, but count me out for loving the 2011 and later lights.

what I don't understand is why don't you guys just take the afs fuse out? thats what I did when I got the car because I didn't have $2000+ for headlights and wasn't familiar with the forums, halogen now and the afs light was blinking but once i took the fuse out, the problem has never come back
