Default IS-F running hotter than usual ?

hi Everyone,

I have searched for this, and it seems that the consensus is that our cars run hot as it is, but today the car just seemed a little hotter than usual so figured I would inquire here and see if anyone has experienced any of the issues described here.

Today was around 80+ degrees, and after accelerating WOT, settled into traffic and began cruising in 8th, it seemed like a lot of heat crept into the cabin from under the dash. Ignored it for a bit, until I noticed the center console wall by my right leg was emitting heat as well. Felt the wall, seemed hot, then traced along the console and stuck my hand in the cup holder which seemed hot too. ( Car was parked in the shade prior to all this)

No warning lights, no ATF/TEMP or CEL, oil level was at the usual 3 bars. Visual check of the engine bay seems normal, no coolant leaks ..

Thinking I'm over thinking, but wanted to see if this is "normal."

Thanks for reading all that, any help/feedback is appreciated.

My cabin seems to be warm most of the time, and I do get heat around my legs (under the dash) too. I'm not sure if this is normal but I've had it like this ever since I had my 2008 F.

Every time I stand next to the car after driving it for a while I can feel the heat emit from under the car. Going to AC this weekend and it is a 2.5hr drive so I will see if this is the case with my F as well.

Well, its 108 degrees here so its sort of hot all the time, lol. But I have yet to have that inside. The A/C works great and keeps me cold most of the time.

I've went on longer trips and felt that same heat coming from under the dash, always wondered if removing the engine cover for those longer trips would help the car a bit

It's probably just the fans throwing the heat towards the firewall. Nothing to be worried about.

I'm the guy with the temperature set to 79 degrees all the time. The only time the car feels hot to me is at the track when it's 102 outside and I've got the windows down and the A/C off (required to be off while on track).

I get the same feeling. It feels like heat is coming through the firewall and footwell. I thought it was just me the whole time! I have an '08.
