Yeah I don't see anyone warranting an aftermarket part falling off at all. I know it sucks, but its only going to frustrate you more hearing no. If a shop put them on for you and have a labor/workmanship warranty you might get some help?? Good Luck bro and I assume Joe Z will do everything he can to get you just 1 tip....

Not an aftermarket part - he lost the OE tip with a JoeZ cover. See what the dealer says first, because you clearly can't even touch or see the tack weld area on this tip as it in behind the bumper. It may be covered under warranty - especially if there is evidence of rust on the weld

Yup that sucks........

Mine broke while cleaning it one day as well. Fortunate for me it fell off in my hands - The inner weld or tack area just let go, I took it to a local custom exhaust shop for a free weld job.

Its bad enough to have to replace the OE exhaust tip section for only one lost tip, but also replacing a JOE Z cover...I feel your pain

So the CF Joe Z tips go over the OEM exhaust tips? I was always under the impression the where full replaceable tips?? Shows how much I know! Lol

Is there a DIY of putting the tips over the OEM tips? I'm curious because I ordered a set of these?

there is no diy as it is very simple. they just slide right in and hook on to the holes surrounding the tip. if it doesn't fit, ur on the wrong side or the wrong tip. just make sure as u slide them in that u hear a click sound confirming the hooks latches on to the holes so it doesn't fall off while driving. i would do a test drive around the neighborhood after the installation, to make sure everything is secure before you go out anywhere. that way if it does fall off you know u can just go scoop them up before anything happens to them.

Question

Hey darbs,

Already responded to your PM as well.

Just to understand this issue a little bit better..

Did you actually lose the OEM Stainless Tip with the CF tip attached to it ??

A quick picture would help us..

Thanks

Joe Z

Hey darbs, I feel your pain bro. Someone stole one of my lower stainless tips while parked at the mall. Never would I have thought someone would want just one tip and to think, I was worried about door dings. I have pry marks where the welds are located in the inside. I know why someone stole it, cause the one side costs $375.00 at the stealership.

Yeah if I read that correctly, it does seem like he did lose both the original tip along with the cf cover piece.

^ WoW... thats crazy !!

I guess those 4 tack welds that hold the oval tip, aren't that strong..

Plus in think in your case, the elements can take a toll on speeding up the break down process of the metal
(Salt on roads, etc)

I remember seeing the underbody of your car..
I'm curious to see how bad the metal around the inside of the tips looks like..

Good thing this is covered under warranty.. !!

Also for those who don't know, the part numbers are for the entire Tip / Diffuser.
One for the Left side & One for the Right Side

The 4 Oval Stainless Tips are not sold individually..

We will communicate further on PM to discuss the broken/missing CF Tip issue and the replacement for it..

Regards,

Joe Z
