Just so you know, $15K - $17K is about what your trade books out as.

You can get that car for $52K easily. $53.5 is invoice and there is a $3000 manufacturer to dealer incentive on right now. Hold out for a better price, they will sell it for $52.

they did offer another 2k on the combined trade/purchase deal so that's good. I think Ideally I'd like another 2. if they don't I'd be tempted to wait til jan just b/c then the car will "officially" be a yr old.

You can buy a brand-new one for a $61,500 sticker price. 2009.

Oh, I understand, but I'm now thinking low 50's based on the various threads I've been reading so I'll prob. need to go somewhere that has several F's on the lot....these guys close by have 1 and they must think it is very special. Of course, this is an anuotrader ad, so I've not even set foot in there yet to talk to them. Just thought it pretty ballsy to stick that kind of price on it.

That pricing is one of the reasons that, on the East coast, they joke that IS-F stands for "In Stock Forever".

I wasn't suggesting that you pay sticker, I was simply pointing out that asking that much for a used one is absolutely asinine.

I stand corrected, there is dealer cash on the F's. We don't really have any, and I wasn't paying attention. But when a lot of people said, I checked into it. My bad.

Cool 08 is-f

Walk into the dealership Dec 31 and offer $50.000. They will probably say no, but tell them you'll split the difference from $53.5 to $51,750 and include 7/100k warranty. Just a thought.

Over on another Lexusf.com, there's a listing from Lexus of Dayton for an IS-F w/ 4100 miles and he's asking $52,xxx. Maybe you could look there?

Worst case, you'll end up "settling" for an IS350 which is a damn nice car, just oriented differently than the IS-F. Not a bad outcome either way.
Thanks for the advice nuttybar, I think I'd rather go a lightly used IS-F route too. I recently saw that a nearby dealer in Owings Mills, MD sold an IS-F w/ 11k miles on ebay motors for $45k (not sure if we can post a link to an ebay motors auction here). That price does not seem too bad. I think new, even if it can fall to $50k, is still out of my range but $40 or a little over for a used and I think I might be able to pull this. Let's see.
