V1...if your thinking about getting one, I'd run a search on here and you'll find tons of info about them

9500ix which I connected to the mirror using an ultra-thin black wire (spent hours doing it because I wanted the connection at the mirror to be soldered on the connector and using small wires on RJ45 jack is not easy task).

The wire I used was from an earphone (you know those are extra tiny).

9500ix is always quite during my commute and this is what I wanted. It's mounted unobtrusive behind the mirror and therefore its efficiency to detect rear LIDAR (point and shoot Laser gun) is probably near to zero (tinted windows don't help) but that's OK since cops rarely use LIDAR from the rear and since LIDAR is pretty much undetectable "in advance" anyway, even from the front.

How much did this cost you? Where do you buy?

I have been reading about them as well. Funny the top two seem to be V1 and Escort 9500ix in about every forum I have been on (and the first ones mentioned here). V1 has it's loyalist as well as the Escort Line. I live in VA so it's not for me (STI probably the best for VA).

Seems the GPS (speed and traffic light camera built in database with learning) and less false alarms seem to be the big plus for the 9500ix

V1 seems to have a greater range, but by small margin (plus the arrows and bogey counter) but many false alarms although there are adjustments to help with that.

The V1 is about $100 less. I was considering this as a gift for my father who is retiring. The 9500ix seems to be a little more complicated to "learn". I think many F owners would lean toward the 9500ix (blue screen Ha Ha). For a retiree, probably the V1 would be easier to use. I don't have either, never used any, and this is just based on some quick reading off the web.

K40 plus diffusers. Haven't been pulled over in 2+ years. Worth every penny.

I have a passport and a v1, and I like the v1 hands down. The Passport is for my wife's car.

i just got the same radar and mounted in the same spot, no hardwire came with it so I need to get one and will wire up in the same spot whta do you think so far? I sold my V1 and just got this from the advice of a local member. Got it for a steal also.

I just did the same thing (sold the V1 and got the 9500xi)! That's where I just got back from actually haha I'm going to order a hardwire and get it up this next week! I haven't used it enough but the red light camera aspect is awesome and its quieter then the V1 but I haven't used it enough yet to say one or the other is better
