Default Did you know about temporary shift range

Straight out of manual -

To drive using temporary shift range selection, operate the “-”paddle shift

switch. The shift range can then be selected by operating the “-” and “+”

paddle shift switches. Changing the shift range allows restriction of the

highest gear, preventing unnecessary upshifting and enabling the level of

engine braking force to be selected.
This was taken off the UK forum its interesting to try with the gear selector indicator in the display screen. This gearbox has a lot of good things going for it except the fluid change. Cheers

I do this all the time when not in manual mode. Leave it in drive and coming towards a stop just hit the - paddle and it blips straight to 5th. It'll stay there for a little then puts itself back to D. Of course you can go up and down but I find manual mode to be better for that.

It's called S mode. There have been a few threads about it in the past when discussing the available shifting modes. Some people liked to confuse it with M mode.

Is this while driving or a pre-selected range? If there was a way to keep it from going into 1st every time I stop that would be incredible.

Snow mode always starts in second gear. All that S mode does is limit the highest gear the transmission will use. It does nothing else. It is no different than the 2 - 1 you've seen for years on just about everything with an automatic transmission, its just convenient you can invoke it with the paddles while driving.

Ill have to give snow mode a try, only tried it once in actual snow. It would be very nice to avoid going through first gear every time you stop while warming the car up.
