I'd get a code diagnostic and would work backwards from there

Thanks people will get a obd11 and check and let you know. Dr Sonny is on the list to get a tune in winter, just want a quick fix for then that's why I thought O2 extenders would work?? PS does the computer store codes after disconnecting the battery cheers.

a few months. no CEL after install. happened when it rained hard in SoCal last week. O2 sensors may have gotten wet, or maybe i have exhaust leak, or cracked manifolds or bad Cats. gonna have someone run codes with a real OBD II Scanner and go from there and check exhaust and sensors

Would you normally hold the installer responsible for this problem?

Yes, the ECM can permanently store DTCs regardless of power. No, no one has been successful long term with extenders on this forum.

I'm having the same issue as well as I just had a shop install my X-Force catback. Code P0430 pops up from the scan. Either got damaged O2 sensors, improperly installed O2 sensors or an exhaust leak somewhere. Currently;

- running stock tune
- HPS elbow w/aFe dry flow filter
- X-Force catback exhaust system

I never knew how sensitive our parts are on this car and hopefully I can find out what the problem is. I don't have easy access to a lift either to check things out for myself.

The ISF is sensitive. I had a small exhaust leak cause a cel, and I chased it for a year. Also, with the Cel on, the car pulls timing and is much slower. I think mine is finally fixed.

I swear a bad news report can cause a Cel on these cars. Everything has to be right.

I noticed that yesterday before my CEL+TRAC light came on. The car was a little sluggish and when it was time to drive home at the end of the day, then damn lights turned on. After dealing with my knock sensor replacement, some rare electrical fault even the dealership had to call corporate about, my intake elbow causing a CEL and now the catback....I'm tired if seeing Christmas lights when I look at my gauges over the most mundane things with this vehicle.

^^ that is one reason why I go back and forth with considering performance mods on this car. I hate warning lights. lol. I like to start it, drive it, enjoy it. Without worrying

Last year I had a code pop up (forget the exact one), but I remember how annoying it was not only to see the CEL and other lights that come on because of it, but also to feel the car drive so much worse. Luckily a simple fix took care of that and everything was back to normal. Thats when I realized how sensitive it is

California? If so smog is the biggest scam in this state. I get the "environmental friendly" approach with the sales pitch but they literally check for a CEL, and visual to make sure you have OEM catalytic converters (make sure you have all 10 of them on as they will nick you for missing any) and call it a day.
