Magnaflow vs gesi cats

I'm probably going to go with GESI even though they are more expensive. From the research I've done they lose less than 1% from what they claim with their proprietary metal stainless steel honeycomb structure.
Here is the cheapest I've found it so far: https://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-Perfo...ytic+converter
Here is the info from the site: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...oducts_id=2070

That's a good suggestion, then you wouldn't have to worry about getting a bigger Inlet/Outlet for a S/C application on the cat

Any other thoughts on this? New to the IS-F community here... I've hardly had her a week, and already on the way are the Borla exhaust, aFe filter, HPS intake tube, and a pair of Magnaflow 2.5" in/out catalysts, model #53956... I don't see a lot of hard specs on the cats like cell density or flow data, but they're far cheaper than the Gesi/Vibrant units. I know you're usually paying mostly for the precious metals that do the real magic with a more expensive catalyst, but I simply want to pass inspection (they sniff in Austin, TX) and have marginal power loss if I gut the cats in my OEM headers. Would something like this with a metal core flow better?
Thanks!

Magnaflow are ceramics cats. Good for a daily driver that doesn't get a lot of abuse. Ceramics don't hold well to abuse or heat cycles (splash of water for example).
Go with a metallic structure if you want peace of mind.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the thread, but I i would not even bother with Magnaflow cats. I had them om my PPE dual mode and they rattled loose fairly quickly and almost lodged in my exhaust. I then bought GESI cats and put them through some very rigorous driving with no issues at all, thankfully. My advice, pay the money for quality and peace of mind. Otherwise, you'll probably end up paying twice lol.

Has the fuel smell disappeared for you?
In my respect with no cats it is impossible to drive with the windows down to not have your clothes smell.
After I put them on, at idle it is not noticeable but with decent or wot there is a chance I smell it. Seems like it depends on how the turbulence or wind is blowing.
