Air Bag Recall?

And here's more. I find this very interesting. Depending where you live, your F may not be part of the recall at all (at this time). Scroll down to the May 2016 Update and check out the map, then click on your zone:

Now, it looks like all ISFs do indeed have the bad Takata passenger bags. The Lexus PN did not change from 2011 to 2012/2013. But, according to where you live (climate) and how old your F is the recall may not apply to you - YET
Ticking time bomb here. Takata may be bankrupt before this whole mess is over

I believe my 2008 F has lived it's entire life in zone C (areas with lower temperature cycling and humidity).
Following a review of the link, it would appear that if you live in zone C, it's likely the problem may never be remedied.
Hopefully the front passenger air bag is an integral part of the dash.

Takata Recall
Hello All,
I received the letter from Lexus today stating that our IS-F's are included in the passenger side airbag inflator recall. It appears that the letter is preliminary until replacement parts are available. Lexus suggest is not to drive a passenger in the front seat?
When I purchased a sedan my intention was to drive clients around in this vehicle not to play taxi driver by having them sit in the back seat. Does anyone else feel that this is not a good temporary resolution of the matter?

thanks for the link Lou
any possibility for the dealer to give me a loaner until replacement parts come in? I cannot be driving business partners and clients around like a taxi because of this.

^^^^None what so ever. However, I wouldn't worry about it. It's more of an issue in warm humid climates. I see you're from Illinois, I would not think it's an issue there. The link contains a map with staggered recall states based on age of vehicle and climate. I believe that all ISFs up through 2014 models contain the defect air bags, but the powers that be don't consider them a problem until they age, and as I said depending on climate they age at different rates.
And, just my opinion, Takata could declare bankruptcy before this whole mess clears up. And believe me, this is a HUGE mess!!!!!

Q8: My vehicle is involved in this Safety Recall but the remedy is not yet available. Will Lexus provide a loaner vehicle until the remedy is available?
A8: Remember, this condition does not cause the front Passenger airbag to activate when it should not. To minimize risk, Lexus recommends that no passengers sit in the front passenger seat. If this recommendation is not feasible for the customer’s personal or business needs, alternative transportation may be made available.
