Jacking up the F
#16
Great topic, thanks for asking a question that impacts many of us! I do have a floor jack but haven't tried it yet on my IS-F... looks like I might have to replace it with a low-profile version.
As for the pinch weld point; You might be right that it should be designed to handle the stress, but since a lot of us have a lot of money tied into this vehicle... and it weighs about 3800 lbs, I sympathize with wanting to keep it perfect and its a little scary to push that much stress on a single point...
(I have not tried the OEM jack yet)

solutions below
Like most of you I already had a floor jack, but it was not nearly low enough, nor long enough, to lift the center jack point forward of the oil pan. I also had the same problems with the old jack sometimes bending the pinch welds. The below solves both issues.
For the pinch welds I bought something that looks like a hockey puck, but with a slot cut into the top side that goes around the weld itself.
~10 dollars for the slotted puck
For the mid-frame jack point (forward of oil pan) I bought a extra-low clearance floor jack and a regular old hockey puck to go into the "cup" of the jack.
~$4 for the puck.
and $224 for the floor jack.

Help
I am looking for a floor jack and also came across the same offer at Costco. Please let me know how you like the $99 Arcan floor jack (from Costco). Thanks.

should work
Stock height. Note that it will scrape the plastic shields on the bottom but not damage them in any way. I don't think you would have any issues when lowered when using this jack + wooden stepper ramps.

I was looking at basically the same model on Amazon that sells for $249....$99 was a great deal.

just need to get a low profile jack.
Little off topic but I will be ordering these as my F's jack pints are all bent up.
