Thanks for the link! We tune both and are big in the M community, especially the E46 M3's we own that market. Our home M forum is M3forum but we are on M3post as well

Watch the first 1 minute of this video. They probably wont like this video of me chasing down an M3 on a main straight when the M3 was the lead car. All Im going to say is 290 lb/ft compared to 370 lb/ft. F their torque multiplication. I dont like having to ring the motors neck to pass on the street or track .

Every forum is biased. Comes with the territory. For the most part though there's valid arguments outside of aesthetics because looks are always subjective. A ZF8 gearbox for an auto would have been superior at minimum if not a dual clutch like the competition. The weight is also a bit higher than an already heavy *** E9X M. No coupe offering also likely killed the dream for some. Don't shoot, just opinions.
If it makes it any better I think I finally buckled and am leaning towards an 11 ISF. Might take delivery end of this month. But I do love my ///M cars LOLZ :P

I have to agree. The 4 door only option may have been a turn off, there is the added weight, miserably narrow tires in front, and lack of manual. I still dont think many M3s are manuals and paddles are faster.

I actually came very close to getting an M3 long before I got the ISF. The funny thing is, my BMW enthusiast buddy, who owned an M3 and now drives a M5, talked me out of buying the M3! So glad I got in to an ISF. M3s are on every single corner here in SoCal...an ISF I see every blue moon.

my next car will be a manual....its a must for me. I love feeling the connection to the car and I don't feel that entirely with this...its the biggest downfall for me other than how dirty my white seats get.
I love having 4 doors...I may not have many people in my car all the time but the convenience factor for me is an added bonus.

The transmission is VERY good.
Is it as good as the ISF transmission? I'd say it's quite comparable in response but the ISF definitely shifts quicker and responds to the paddles quicker on upshifts, in fact I think the ISF shifts in sport/manual are as close to a DCT unit as a conventional auto will come.
ZF 8 speed shifts incredibly quick for an auto @ 200ms, but the ISF does it in 100ms. Half the time, it's a difference you can really feel while doing sporty driving, it has a more direct "race car" feel to it.
I'm a manual guy through and through but love the ISF transmission, one of my favorite parts of the car.

Guess that's right. Back in mid 2000's would have been when the development would have taken place. Not even sure if the ZF8 was available back then or not. Didn't surface on BMW's till after 2012 if I recall.
