Shopping for IS F
#16
Def agree with everyone else! I personally went with the '12 F for the suspension/handling upgrades, ride comfort, thicker steering wheel, upgraded display on dash, Bluetooth/USB/aux, 2012 wheels, and led headlights, lol. Plus, I believe the 08-09's had leaky radiators/water pump issues and foggy headlight issues...but don't quite me on that, just something I've heard other members say.
Mileage depending, you should be able to find a good conditioned '11 or '12 for $35-40k. Of course lower the mileage, you'll be closer the the $40k pricing and higher the mileage closer to the $35k range.
I searched over a year for the perfect F for me...bought it 2 weeks ago and every time I look at it, drive it, think about it, I'm super happy with my purchase/decision! Can be extremely beasty but can also be luxurious and tame. Totally different feel than 99.9% of the GM vehicles out there! Good luck on your search!

Im also looking for an IS-F but man, they are so rare in California.
Ive began looking out of state but i don't want to waste time flying around to look for "the one".
couple of things that worry me are bent pinch welds (since mechanics are so careless everywhere) and rust. Do you guys have any rust issues outside of say California and Arizona?
(sorry for threadjacking OP)

Get the newest one you can. The 2011 are better with suspension and lsd.
I am 6 foot 235 and I would say you got a few inches on the room. Seats sit low and you can adjust.
There is a neimen marcus in my area with 80k on it. The neimen was a short production car if your into that thing. I can send the link.

If you dont want to deal with rust issues stay out of the North East states, especially DC/ NOVA,MD,PA where they use salt on the icy roads. I think in CO they use sand like we use in Tahoe. Stick to the southern states or the NM, AZ, TX, NV.. maybe even SoCal etc..

Def may have to look out of state. I drove 12 hrs to get the perfect F for me. Well worth it. Don't "settle" just because you want to buy instate. Just my opinion!

Right now the prices of 2014 MY is way too expensive for what it has to offer (F logo headrest + OEM carbon fiber spoiler and 2012 rims); unless you're into collector items since this is probably the year with the lowest production #s.

^, this is what I have in mind too because I come from the mighty FRS. I test drove an 08 and feel so connected to the road in high speed which make me feel so good. The 11-12's didn't give me that feel except it just as smooth as a luxury sedan like my current 350.

I am 6'4" and am happy where I sit. My taller friends, 6'7+ don't fit properly though. They had to go with srt. 2011+ is the year to go, the differential change along with tuning made it way better on the track. I also love the tachometer change.
