Default Weird Behavior when Starting the car....

So lately days have been getting colder and my F is behaving a bit weird. This issue may have happened on warmer days but it happens more frequent now. So issue is that the car takes a few tries before the push button actually works. Even if I depress the brake pedal the light stays orange instead of turning to green so I have to press it several times to start the car. Also at least one time the car actually begins to crank but it falls short, like it doesnt makes it through the full cranking sequence hence requiring a second shot......................................Is my button broken or is my battery dying?

When your car actually starts, an early indicator is usually the speedo gauge does not do a full needle sweep left to right on start up..........this usually indicates the battery is dying.

It certainly sounds like your battery is dying given the extra power needed to start it during the cold weather change.

If you change the battery do realize you have to to to each individual door and roll up and down the window before they'll work at all from the driver's door again.

Link fixed

The brick pedal feeling has to be on the FIRST push...

If that's the case clean out your brake booster check valve or replace it..

Fairly inexpensive and a quick fix !!

battery is on the edge. You will have the car die sooner than later. You better get that battery replaced quick. I have a jump n go in my car just in case. Cant leave patients waiting !!

Is this covered under the powertrain? Im already at 58,600 miles so bumper to bumper is gone...... If not, how do I remove and clean this valve? All I know it located right on the booster and that I need to remove the vaccum line.... But how do I pull it out? Do I use brake parts cleaner spray?

Omg that looks so easy. I will try to clean it up first. If not I'll just replace it myself. Thank you very much Joe I really appreciate it! I'll probably do this thursday before eating turkey and pecan pie. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

+1, get the battery tested.

What year is your IS-F and is this the original battery?
