Default Handling Advice - Need input!

Hi Guys,

Just want to be completely clear on what I will need to do once I fit the following suspension/handling parts to my car.

- BC BR coilovers with Swift springs
- USRS from RR-Racing
- F Sport rear sway bar
- Figs Mega arms (not sure if this is overkill? Not running the car ultra low or anything?)

I'm thinking I need tracking/alignment, but is there anything else I should be looking at?

The local tire shop have a Hunter four wheel laser alignment machine, is this all I need?

Trouble I have here in the UK is there are specialists for race car setup etc, but none are close to where I live, and they charge a lot for their services (supply and demand etc).

Just want to hear from other owners what they did after installing similar mods to their cars.

Thanks a lot guys.

Is you plan to track the car or just street?

Your list looks great - if you can spring for the KW coils, I would do that.

I would think that you would not notice a difference with the Mega Arms on the street. For the track, it would be nice to be able to adjust front/rear camber.

All you will need is a 4 wheel alignment from any reputable shop - you tell them the specs and they will set it. Remember without the mega arms all they can really adjust is toe (and cross camber if they shift the subframe)..

If you are really after making the car handle better you need to start where it will make the most difference: stickier tires.

Thanks guys.

Car is mostly seeing fast road use at the moment. If I start doing a few more trackdays next year, I will opt for either the KW's, or something better.

I do want to lower the front (we got the same raised look you guys did here in the UK, but our curbs aren't anything like yours! Lol), but I should be able to do that with the BC's.

My ultimate goal was always to get the KW's. Just couldn't resist the BC's at the price they were offered for!

Do like the look of the Penske's or Ohlins as well though.

We had the Ohlins on our time attack Supra's. They were friggin awesome!!!

Mine was the kw's as well but I found a set of Jic's in the classifieds that were made for the isf and figured to give them a try seeing how little the use was and how much they were $ wise, I like them a lot it handles great on the road or highway at high speeds. Other thing is the later model steering ecu also makes a difference

You could get our RR Racing/ Penske's for not much more than KW's. BTW, KW's are fine for lowered street cars for guys looking for mild handling improvement and smooth ride, but I have driven with V3's on an ISF, and I wouldn't say I was very impressed from a performance point of view.

Loving the Jic's (16k f 14k r at .75" drop currently) they are some real nice pieces, I forgot to weigh them but the box shipped to my door was 52 lbs (full machined/rebuildable pillowball upper mounts!) granted I got them for deals used I would still recommend them to be had in a heartbeat
