I have both right now. 09 ISF (stock) & 09 G8 GT w/ HFC, CAI, Exhaust and Tune. The ISF is just much lighter and shifts much quicker. Took the ISF to work today after driving the G8 for the last week or so. ISF just feels more planted, quicker and overall more refined (it should be since we are comparing 60k car with a 25k car).
I do like how no one ever knows what I am driving when I take the G8 out (its completely debadged).

Were they really only 25k new? If so they are holding value like crazy then, one of my friends that loves GMs is currently looking at a G8 GT right now with 30k miles & the seller wants $22k, the car is 7 years old. He wanted a GXP but they were all out of his budget ($35k+ for a '08-09).
They hold their value because of the motors they have. Cars are easy to tune and the updated version (Chevy SS) isn't much of a looker. You can easily squeeze a ton of power out of them and the mods are easy. For about 4k I was able to add a full exhaust, HFC, diffuser, splitter, new shocks/struts, hr springs, front and rear sway bars, hids for low beams and fogs and other misc.
Also contrary to popular belief the Pontiac g8 isn't American made. It's Australian aka Holden Commodore (renamed Pontiac G8)

Don't Sleep on the G8 AT ALL!! My friend and I built a G8 that we took on the Hot Rod Power Tour a few years back. We Stroked the stock 6.0L to 7.9L with a Cam and we built it for a twin turbo set up. The stroker kit and motor assembled was all done for under $2500 (but we did most of the reassembly so saved a ton of money). And it was on a STOCK exhaust with the end muffler deletes. The Twin turbo never made it on the car because we lost track of time before the Power Tour but that car made 475hp /429tq to the wheels which after power train loss, at the crank its about 565 hp. And that car SOME HOW still got 27 mpg highway
I could only imagine how much with the turbo it it could have made. The G8 is a great car, it just big and handles like a BOAT which I did like but was still loads of fun. A properly done G8 would SPANK an IS-F (even though I love the F more) Don't ask about the pink engine... wasn't my choice
