Opinions wanted: Powder Coating 2011 wheels gold
Just wanted to get all your opinions...
I bought my car used and the previous owner didn't take care of the wheels, so there is a lot of hard caked on brake dust that is nearly impossible to remove.
Picture of my current scheme for reference:

I was thinking of getting my wheels blasted, and powder coated gold... It would be coated the same color as the wheels below.
Opinions?

I like the gold and black scheme, but not sure if it works with the 2011 web wheels.

If you aren't sure, you can use plastidip. Since you aren't going for a clearcoat or glossy finish you should be able to get very close to your desired look.
It won't help with the brake dust issue, but it might be worth it before making a much more expensive and permanent change.

Personally I think black with gold wheels go great together. The problem with gold wheels is that it stands out on its own. You'll have to tone it down some, maybe a slight drop in suspension to start. The Mitsubishi does look around stock ride height, but the mudflaps kinds give it a lowered look. But if you're set on gold, go for it. It'll be different, but that could be a good thing as well. Best of luck!

I think the 08-09 and 2012 wheels can look good powder coat to a different color. Im not to sure about the 10-11 wheels. I would drop the car first. Swift springs or BC coils with swift springs upgrade is a good choice.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Yeah, I kinda want to keep my suspension stock, just cause I think it works great out of the factory already. But I agree with your sentiments that any wheel mods kinda needs a drop to look good. If anything I might just powder coat it to a color similar to the stock wheels. I really just wanted to get rid of the caked on brake dust on the wheels.
If anyone has a set of the 08-09 wheels for sale, let me know, I'd be interested in buying if they're in excellent condition.
