Does the ISF Really take 10 Liters of oil?

No, although synthetic is not a requirement for the IS-F (2008 being my experience), many people do use it. The oil viscosity requirements for the 2013 GS, on the other hand, dictate synthetic.

I topped up my car a few days back with 1 liter of oil and the oil level indicator went from min to max!
I would have thought I'd have to put more than just 1 lite to bring the oil level back to max.

When I buy the two 5 qt jugs..... I always measure out one quart by pouring into an empty qt I keep handy.
I then pour in all 9 quarts... Then I adjust accordingly with another 1/2 qt and more if needed..
It's really only 9.8 Qts or approx 9 Qts 25 ounces.. w/Filter.
Couple of times early on, I made the mistake of pouring in all 10 Qts.
Won't be doing that ever again

My dealer uses synthetic blend which I am just going to keep using. There was a report floating around awhile back about synthetic oils vs convential oils. It seems synthetic was a lot better for cars in really cold climates and extended oil change intervals. You'd think the amount of money Toyota spent in R&D on our motors they would have recommended synthetic from the factory if it was really needed.

For what it's worth, .2 qt. is 8 oz. That's 4 oz. less than a can of soda.

Lou, .2 qt is approx. only 6.4 ounces.. The fitter you using is not OEM Spec..
Its not about "not liking it".. But, I will keep using the filter designated for the IS-F motor.
Thanks
