Exhaust systems
I've noticed that a lot of you have Joe Z exhausts on your cars is there a reason why you go for that one over others like issforged? Is it a price thing, performance or just sound preference?

i don't have a JoeZ, i have an ISS forged track with Sikky headers and it barley drone, and quite IMO. But my buddy have a JoeZ with Sikky headers, and his car is louder at WOT and drone louder then mind.. I would of thought mine would be louder because i have no resonator but i guess not

I wrode on Amgone75 F with PPE and ISS QES and RX7 Rage F sikky with ISS DES. I have the Joe Z with PPE. Those QES sounds louder at woot, but it doesnt drone as much as my Joe Z. Also the DES does not drone also as much. I cant stand the drone on my Joe Z so I remove it. I going to try Borla next.

When I first got my car and did research I too was intrigued by how many JoeZ exhausts there were. I had never heard of JoeZ or PTS so I figured it was just the first available or may not be that good for a daily driver. NOT true.
I had previously tried just the simple Borla axle-back as my first car mod and although it's wicked cheap, I will never recommend that system. The Borla cat-back I've read is way better but the axle-back was terrible in comparison to the JoeZ. It just added volume/boom in the cabin (although it sounds great outside the car).
I actually prefer the ISS DES exhaust sound and tips and wanted that exhaust but $2,200 + tax was too much for my wallet. The used JoeZ was about half that so I simply couldn't pass it up.
I found a deal on a used JoeZ and, honestly, it's freaking awesome! It sounds perfect and exactly what you would want in a tasteful, V8 exhaust. Gorgeous sound. Quiet when you want, loud when you floor it. Personally I don't have any drone at all and have ZERO complaints about it.
So don't let the name fool you (like it did me) because it's not a GReddy or HKS...the JoeZ is a fantastic(!!!) exhaust. It's common because it's outstanding.

since I already have a thread what's the difference between PPE headers and sikky headers? Does one of them have more problems than the other? Better quality? more HP gains?

I have sikky headers and a joe z exhaust. the joe z pts was the first high quality full cat back for the isf that made a real 20wheel horsepower and sounds great. i get compliments on the systems sound all the time and it has very little drone even with no cats and race headers

Since we're talking about sound preference.... I could suggest deleting the mufflers and secondary cats, and getting stainless steel pipes welded in place. Sounds wicked and very unique, and won't break your wallet like these $1K+ exhausts. Not to mention the car loses about 50lb of muffler weight and you will get a decent amount of HP gain.....although I did it mainly for sound.

Scroll down to at least post No. 13. BTW, I have a custom fabricated dual exhaust system that utilizes modified factory mufflers. I couldn't tolerate the noise or drone of any aftermarket system.
