Just remember, if you don't like it, you're buying a new one and it's not cheap. I'm VERY happy with mine now. It's a soft click and it doesn't feel like the throttle is fighting me from holding it down.
Very nice job on the pics!
Oh, yeah, the foam completely covered the two bolts at the bottom on mine. That's why I chose to break it.

I think Toyota has been using these kick down switches for a long time. JZA80 Supra automatics also have this switch.
I guess I'll be adding this to tomorrow's list.
Install CF splitters, mod K.D. Switch, hardwire escort passport 9500ix and clean brake dust.
I think that last one should go on the dishes and laundry list as I do this every other day.
Project Mu brake pads here I come.

Ok I'm on it! Sweet.....it has always been like turbo lag or something waiting for that second kick down thing that rockets you into oblivion when it happens. I raced a Challenger once from a rolling start and I had some catching up to do for a sec from this exact problem. I can see I'm going to need some wider wheels and tires haaaa.

Very good info. here for modifying the kickdown switch!
Has anyone completely removed this kickdown switch from the ISF? My subscription to TIS is out ATM but I'm assuming its a simple 2 wire design to trick. Just not sure what feedback its really serving to the engine or tranny ecm. Reasons for wanting to bypass it:
1. I hate it
2. I don't want to spend $73 for something I despise AND do not have for the car I'm installing the 2urgse in.
Thanks

hmm, i personally enjoy the switch. mashing the pedal down completely at highway cruising speeds will just "instantly" find and put you in the lowest gear possible. kinda fun to me if you wanna just take off in a straight line.
otherwise just don't use it? since it takes so much extra force to depress it, if you are already in the gear you want or are manually shifting already then can't you just floor it without actuating the switch, i don't get why the hate for it?
basically it lets you downshift with your foot no? ive found that if you drop more than one gear using the paddle you have to upshift manually even in auto/sport mode.
i like to just completely mash the gas on the freeway so that it drops down into 3rd (from 5th or higher) and then let the car do the upshifting for me, as i can't be bothered with such things, ha.
maybe its annoying for track use or something or i guess the car isn't really considered at wot unless its depressed? then maybe i could see how its detrimental, but i like it!
