tire/wheel warrenty

I paid 495 for the IS350 and I paid only 395 for my IS-F. They felt sorry for me for paying MSRP back when it first came out. 5 years, unlimited miles. I actually used it last winter on my IS350 (pothole). They put a new tire but repaired the rim - you couldn't tell the rim was even repaired! (slight lip dent)

Honestly, it's hard for me to imagine an instance where you would make a claim on the wheels, besides curbing them yourself. These are 1pc forged wheels, and it would take a run at a giant pothole at serious speeds to damage them. Also, any serious accidents which damage the wheels will be covered by your car insurance anyways. So, if you are not planning to curb your wheels, then you are mostly insuring the tires. Then it's more cost effective to get the tire certificates from a place like America Tire, which offers free rotation for life, free repairs and replacements, all for about 15-20 bucks a tire.

Also take into account the area where you live. There is tons of construction around here, and sometimes giant potholes just randomly appear. If that's not the case where you live, then it may not be that important. But it's easier to jack up the wheels than people think.

Yeah, in California, you don't have to drive in the winter. Last years winter in Chicago with the constant thaw/freeze cycles made HUGE potholes. Not to mention, sometimes they're full of slush so you can't even see them. It was as if I were driving through a mine field last winter.

I unfortunately drive around a lot of construction zones so I went ahead and purchased mine from the dealership for 375 (discounted). It's 5 year, unlimited miles and also covers the tires as well. I've already needed two new ones because of nails so it's already paid itself off

It does, but then it goes on your insurance as a claim, and my deductible is $500...it can be more for other people. Easier just to do a one-time $600 charge and hope you never have to use it. If you have to once, it paid for itself, twice and you're way ahead.
