Default ML & Nav Questions

Admit I am no techie.. I RTFM and still have questions.
1. Is it possible to "Mute" the sound on the ML unit. I see no mute button
2. Is ther a way to mute the music while the Nav Voice is giving directions
3. Trouble with the hands free bluetooth. I have an 8830 world blackberry. Every time I shut off the car I loose the connection and have to reconnet manually. Have I done something wrong.
Car is fabulous. Getting ready for a long trip this weekend to breakin properly
Thanks

I dont know about the mute button but I wish there was one. I dont know why you have to keep reconnecting manually but with my Iphone it connects every time automatically after the first time I put it in.

1. Dont think so, I think off is considered the mute at Lexus
2. I dont think so either, but I do think you can turn up the voice of the nav. That may help.
3. I have an iPhone. The dealer sync'ed mine the day of and has worked ever since. Make sure your bluetooth on your phone is always on, that may help. Mine auto connects upon start up.

Sorry for the lack of info. Good luck

there is no mute for audio, just turn it off. it's also just one button

for the nav voice, yes you can turn it off. go to menu, volume, and choose "off".

mute is the same as turn off, I guess that's why they didn't bother to make one

There's a setting in the NAV system that lets you turn on/off the auto-connect feature for Bluetooth. I don't remember offhand exactly how to get there, but make sure the 'auto-connect' is enabled.

It "just worked" for me!? It sent the entire contact book at once, didn't have to do one at a time.

I think the key is to NOT have your phone connect via Bluetooth before sending your contacts. I know that was the only way I could get my address book into the NAV from my BB Pearl.

The problem with iphone is that they are not capable of sending the phonebook to the car. Until Apple upgrade the software, you have to manually input your contacts.

Unfortunately no. It will lower the audio volume while the voice is giving direction.
