+1. Yep. Very unique. I don't want to change that.

.....but then I feel the same about the wheels......
To each his own.

Now, take a look at this finishing piece on the new 2010 Camaro...

I saw a Silver one just yesterday, like below..
The only visual problem was the round tips inside the square box..

LMFAO Joe.

I also saw a Camaro SS in person yesterday (from behind for a few short moments...lol) and couldn't help but think about the exhaust criticisms of the F.

Imho, our quad stacked exhausts "fake" tips....are a million times better than the hideousness on the back end of the SS. Don't get me wrong...outside of the exhaust I think the new SS is dead sexy after seeing it in person, but there is nothing good about those exhausts.

Toe, you gotta get your stuff straight...!!!

We are talking about Exhaust Diffusers here... NOT rear aerodynamic body diffusers created for HIGH SPEED racing..

Back on topic buddy!!

Yeah NO kidding!!!

They at least should have painted / coated the round tip from the mufflers BLACK, so it wouldn't be so obvious from the rear..

Lexus actually coats all the rear mufflers black for a "cleaner" look from the rear.. On all their models...
Especially the IS-F & LS460 which have the Exhaust Diffusers

Basically the IS-F ovals are great but I wonder who can fabricate new exhaust tips? Would I look at machine shops or more speciality muffler places?

I'm thinking a thick rolled edge square tip that has been turned into a quadrilateral polygon like this:

What do you think?

Believe it or not Rick, I have spent countless hours looking at options to re-design and re-create a similar OEM piece with a different exit holes..

COST is/was a huge factor on this one.. Mainly because its simply hard to make everyone happy with a final piece.
Which has ZERO performance gains and is purely cosmetic.

A machine shop with focus on raw 304 stainless steel might have the ability to fabricate a piece to your liking.. Once its fab’d & welded, it will need to be polished up, just like the oem ovals are..

Then you have the task on re-configuring on how the new tips are going to be mounted onto the bumper..

In my opinion, it would be easy to start with two oem parts and dissembling completely, including breaking up all the spot welds that hold them together...
Then you can use the inner bowl and mounting points and just focus on the outer finishing piece.

Regards,

Joe Z
