Default IS250C in a Cold Climate

Not many posts about the IS convertable in a cold climate but our British winter is now upon us.

A few nights ago it went well below freezing. I went to get the driver's door open. The window was frozen up and did not drop the usual half an inch to clear the roof. Tried the passenger's side and just the same. Both door mirrors were frozen up and would not retract.

That's where the problem started. This was enough to light-up the dome and door lights and without sufficient opening to 'slam' the doors shut they had to be left in this position all night until the morning thaw.

Fortunately my battery was just good enough to hold out, the windows and mirrors operated normally the following day and the engine started.

The moral of the story is that if the car gets frozen up, not to mess with it but leave it until it thaws out.

Hmmm that’s a bummer to hear

I have had sports cars in lots of true winter climates

my ISC however is in Los Angeles so hopefully no issues. Just turned 7,700 miles
