Remove Shark fin antenna without removing headliner
Hey CL, was wondering if anyone has attempted to remove the shark fin antenna on the roof without removing the headliner.
Looking to do a DIY vinyl wrap on the roof and want to remove the antenna for an easy install.
I removed the rear dome light and was able to disconnect the antenna connector, but I'm not ready to wrap yet, so I didn't continue on with taking it out.
There isn't much space up there to tell you the truth.

You can try dropping the back part of headliner, just don't crease it. If not then remove the rear seats, both c-pillar garnishes, and drop the rear part of liner.
Good Luck

Just going to wrap the roof gloss black.
The rear of the headliner slides onto clips, so dropping it the old way is not an option.
I plan to do everything through the dome light opening to get the shark fin out.
I have a feeling getting it out isn't going to be too tough, it's putting it back in that will be the challenge.
If I actually manage to do it, I'll see if I can make a DIY on getting the antenna out.

I didn't post a DIY as I had made a couple failed attempts at wrapping the roof myself.
I threw in the towel and paid for someone to wrap it, but I did remove/install the antenna myself.
It was actually pretty easy.
I'll put something together and post it...likely next weekend as it's a long weekend here.
To get started, this is the tools you'll need:
Top: Trim tool with a metal end...preferably forked as above
Middle: regular poly trim tool, anything similar to the above is fine
Bottom: 10mm flexible end ratcheting wrench...this is a must. Longer handle is fine, shorter handle won't work
