Loud Noise When Wheel is fully turned
Whats up people. Picked up my 2016 IS300 F sport- White on red last month! Have been browsing this forum for a while now but haven't posted much.
So my question is... My car is fairly new still with only 1500 miles. When I fully turn my steering wheel to make sharp turns (like a u-turn) at low speeds I hear a loud growl. Sounds like its coming from the tires. I wanted to know if anyone else has heard this in their car.
And 2 other quick things..
Gas mileage?? I do a mix of city/Hwy and i'm steady getting around 14-16 MPG after I reset and drive about 100 miles.
Engine whine? Almost like a power steering type sound, Not the worst sound and doesn't sound broke but is noticeable.
Any input?

I noticed that too when I first got my 350.
Had my mechanic (who's also my girlfriend's dad) look at it. He took it for a spin and said that its most likely the rubber lip of the tire making contact with the ground when you turn at a sharp angle.
Its basically designed to do that.
I haven't tested new tires out yet, but if it was an alignment problem you'd notice other things like vibrations.

Congrats on the new car - just picked up a '16 IS 300 F Sport, also red interior like yours, Atomic Silver outside though.
The whine from the engine is a fuel pump, if I remember correctly. I've heard lots of Lexus models with the 3.5 V6 have this. It's probably not an issue. My car does the same thing, only 2400 miles on it.
My gas mileage was around 20 average with mostly city driving until it got cold. Been doing about 18 or so since then.

Mine made the similar noise also when it was brand new ('16 IS300 F Sport) but i haven't heard it in a while
Also gas mileage wise i drive mostly in stop & go traffic and i average around 13 to 14 so it sounds about right

it's very noisy and seems worse the slower you go

Thanks for the responses. This car is definitely a winner. Love how buttery smooth and quiet it is too! The handling is great but a tad heavy at the end of an apex. I feel like strut bars F&R and it would be perfection.
I figured it was the tires. I don't understand why manufactures put Bridgestones on high end cars or any cars at all. You can get a way better quieter tire for a lot less. Had BS RE034 on my 350z and they were the noisiest quickest wearing tires I had. Reason I'm saying this is because they seem like they make the car louder than it could be (other than the turning noise). Also weren't the best in the snow. Soon as these are wornout Continental DWS are going on!

I have the same problem with the tires "skidding/growling" at full lock. The dealer confirmed that this is normal due to the aggressive alignment for the IS which creates caster when the wheels are turned to be extreme.
