I recently bought a 2014 IS 250C. I really want the credit card style smart key. I have been gotten a lot of conflicting information from dealers. Pretty much all of the parts departments say that it is not an option for my car. They say the car was made in 5/2014 and it was not an option until 8/2014. They are just punching in the VIN and said that there is no cross compatibility between any of the models. Can anyone help me with this? I understand I will have to take it to a dealer for programming, but I do not want to buy a few hundred dollar part that will not work.

I believe the correct part number is 89904-53511
When I look at this part on ebay it says this in the description.

Thanks for the post. I just called the number on that ebay listing. Even though my car is in that production range and listed, he said the smart keys are all vin based and the smart card is not compatible with my VIN. He said he has heard of people forcing them to work with the car but that would not be through a dealer. This is a bit frustrating. Any other ideas?
