Default Show me your DYI curb rash fixes

I've tried so hard to not do anything to my new car, but I nicked a curb this morning. To my defense, I'm pretty sick and was going to the doctors..lol. Anyway, I know there's a thread on how to fix the curb rash, but Im more interested in seeing your finished results. There's a place by me that will refinish the whole wheel for $180.

If you don't have experience fixing curb rashes. I say go get it done by the pros. My dealership does each wheel for $99.

I once got my wheels fixed at the dealer and it looks brand new. I couldn't even tell where the rash once was.

Post a pic, if its not that bad you can try yourself. Mine was roughly 4-5 inches of rash.

I'm giving this a go today. So far, not as easy as this looks. The paint doesn't go on nearly as smooth as the rest of the paint on the rim. I'll take pictures later. It's worth a try considering the cost to have a pro do it, unless you're rich and too busy.

Came out ok. I need to figure out how to get rid of the paint lines.

I ordered the stuff from the DYI thread and it just came. The paint not going on smoothly is what I was worried about. Everyone around here wants between $150-$200 per rim. I also found a place that sells refinished rims for $290 a piece.

So I tried to fix it. It didn't come out half bad, but the paint definitely doesn't match right. The new spot is darker. I bit the bullet and called my dealer. $125 to fix it, plus I get a loaner. Sold.
