The rear end gearing in the 3IS is less aggressive than the 2IS to help it get better mileage. Other than that the 3IS is superior to the 2IS in every way: steering, handling, ride quality, interior, seating, ergonomics. Handling is way better even with a smoother ride. Use our 2IS to run errands now and the differences are very apparent when using both cars.

The 3rd Gen does handle better than the base model 2IS but the 2IS F-Sport models can hold their own against the newer 3IS F-Sport.
