Default What RPM do you guys hit?

I have been driving very conservative with my IS 200t and I'm in ECO mode too. Most of the time my RPM hits the highest at 3000. Stupid question, is it very bad to step on it to like 6000 RPM? Will that damage the engine?

What RPM are you guys hitting?

The manual says to take it easy for the first 700 miles.

4000 to hear it roar.

And no, it's not damaging to the engine. There's a reason why the rev limiter exists.

You are fine as long as you don't do it during the break in period.
However, I think it is pointless to go above the peak torque's rpm..

what is the peak torque's rpm on 200t?

i don't believe you have to babysit the car even during the first 1000km.

just babysit on it until the engine warms up, then drive as you will.

Put the car in sport or sport+ mode and let the car rev itself out that's one safe way of enjoying the performance, it will shift for you and the end of that gear. There is a mode/setting where you have to shift the vehicle as the driver but I won't tell you. Don't want you to blow your new toy up

What do you mean by holding the sport mode button? Isn't it just switch it left or right for sport/eco mode?

He's talking about the traction control.. you hold down the traction control button until you see the yellow light on the dash. Then it'll let you bang off the rev limiter (which means you'll have to shift via the paddles)

You can redline it but not for too long as oil temp will rise quick under load and also be on top of oil changes to extend engine life and turbo bearing life.
